The Script...
“Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life,” Pablo Picasso. “Have no fear of perfection, you’ll never reach it,” Salvador Dali. “The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance,” Aristotle. These words, sprung from artists of different centuries, cultures, backgrounds and passions, continue to inspire teachers and students alike; to create, visualize, and recognize the world around them with those who share it. As an artist, I aim to create work on a scale of which I observe existence and hope to share with the viewer the lens through which I see it. My goal as an art educator is not only to inspire young souls to recreate their own world, but to aid in cultivating compassion and understanding when seeing others’.

A Reflection...
Truthfully, I was a bit intimidated by this assignment when it was first given to us. I don't listen to podcasts as much as I'd like to and I wasn't quite sure what to expect. After writing my script, which came quite naturally after the ball was rolling, I had my fiancé record the spoken word because, like most, am confused by hearing my voice out loud. Using Garage Band and iMovie was a really cool experience and I feel as though I gained a really cool skill which I absolutely intend on using in future lesson plans. |

Animation Project- Harold's Purple Crayon
Animation Reflection..
I enjoyed this project, probably more that I imagined I would. The class rotoscope project was a cool thing to learn how to do, however like most, it became tedious after a while and I was anxious to move on to my own stop motion movie. My original storyboards were pretty ambitions considered what I ended up going with. I really wanted to show homage to one of my favorite childhood books, so I'm pleased with my outcome! :)

YOUTUBE HOW TO: DUCT TAPE FLOWER RINGS!
I really enjoyed making this YouTube tutorial! I must admit, I was a novice art project movie maker at the beginning of this semester, but have fallen in love with the idea. All of the techniques and editing styles we've been learning make it easy to create some really cool ways to show instruction. I am inspired to start creating even more videos and will definitely be using this style in my future art classroom.
